HIGH ON EMOTION WITH CHRIS DE BURGH

Chris De Burgh performed at The Sun Arena in Pretoria on Friday the 2nd of March as part of his Better World Tour, thanks to Big Concerts.

He might have been performing for decades, but his voice reamins truly amazing after all these years.

We have been to concerts around the world and seen the greatest stars, but Chris De Burgh still has one of the best voices, when it comes to his ballads.

The venue was packed with over 7000 people, and they were made to wait for about half an hour before the show finally started. As the slow hand claps started, Chris De Burgh and his band finally appeared to great applause.

The setlist contained new songs off his latest album, "A Better World" as well as the usual crowd favourites such as Lonely Sky, High on Emotion, Spanish Train, Dont Pay the Ferryman and Missing You.

As usual there were a host of woman dressed in red and Chris did not disappoint and attempted to dance with as many as possible during his performance of Lady in Red.

Chris continously spoke to the crowd during his songs about his adventures in South Africa, his take of the world political scene and his love for song writing. The crowd soaked up every word.

Half way through the performance he invited the crowd to get out of their seats come forward towards the stage. This seemed to have energized him and the performance only got better.

We were suprised at his energy levels and passion. If he ever performed in South Africa again, we would be there in a flash.
